shutterstock_133994993Bicycling on a beach cruiser can bring you back to a simpler time!

When you need a change of pace from the beach, the bustle, and town, a day of bicycling through West Cape May may just be what you’re looking for.

1. Cape May Lighthouse

Imagine waking up in the morning, walking out back and hopping on your cruisers. You might want to begin the morning with ride to The Cape May Lighthouse where you can climb to see an expansive view of the Cape May coastline. You may simply walk the grounds to see the fully restored Oil House, or explore one of the many magnificent nature trails, or take a stroll on the expansive, less populated beaches.

2. Beach Plum Farm

After your visit to the Lighthouse, you can hop on your cruiser and head up the road to Beach Plum Farm in tranquil West Cape May. You can ride through the beautiful farm to find a vast array of fruits, vegetables, and beehives. You can see pigs and chickens, visit the gift shop where you can find wonderful homemade organic products, and end your visit with a sumptuous lunch at one of the lovely picnic tables in the garden. The stuffed pepper with homemade sausage and the roast pork gnocchi are fabulous!

3. Willow Creek Winery

Once you finish your lunch you may want to explore the beautiful garden. Back on your cruiser you can head up the road to Willow Creek Winery. The grounds are stunning and the 50-acre vineyard, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Cape May Bay. The climate in Cape May is similar to the Bordeaux region and Willow Creek produces award winning fine wines.

You can get a glass of their 2014 Pinot Noir or their Wilde Cock White and relax in one of their Adirondack chairs taking in the lovely views of the vineyard. If you are a bit hungry, you may want to order their lovely cheese board where you can select from a wide variety of Specialty Cheeses and Meats.

Once you’ve enjoyed your afternoon at the vineyard, you may want to ride back to The Harrison in time for Afternoon Tea and a lovely blueberry scone or a delectable piece of Lemoncello Cake on the front porch…

Book your stay at The Harrison, and enjoy a weekend or weekday getaway that will rival many of the finest luxury hotels in the nation. We look forward to seeing you…both new and old friends alike.

The Harrison – Victorian Elegance, Contemporary Luxuries, Outstanding Service.
